Das Geheimnis nennt sich Filedrawers.
Filedrawers is a web-based file manager which talks to an AFS filesystem back-end with waklog.
OpenAFS 1.5.53 provides the best user experience for Microsoft Windows users. 1.4.7 is the recommended release for all other users. The Unicode character set support for Windows clients permits users to create and access file system objects using characters not represented in the local 8-bit OEM character set.
1.5.53 is also the most recent in the series of releases intended to provide new experimental features including the Demand Attach File Service and Disconnected AFS, on other platforms including MacOS X, Linux variants, and UNIX, and includes several bugfixes since 1.5.52.

Kam heute morgen über OpenAFS-Announce.
Allein für diese drei Vorträge hat sich die Fahrt von über 7h gelohnt.
Die anderen Vorträge waren natürlich auch nicht zu verachten, und die Jungs der TU haben sich wirklich Mühe gegeben! Danke!
Die Road Map für OpenAFS sieht vielversprechend aus – und Jeff & Derrick haben uns einen sehr informativen Einblick in die nächsten Versionen gegeben. Das wird spannend…
…aber jetzt bin ich erstmal auf morgen gespannt.

The “European OpenAFS Workshop 2008″ will take place from Sep. the 24th to Sep. the 26th. at the SPSC Institute at Graz University of Technology in Graz in collaboration with the CGV Institute. The registration fee will be € 210,00 and will contain a T-shirt, two lunches, one dinner at a “Heurigen”, coffe & cake and some benefit for the lecturer. If you register till the 1st of September you can deduct € 50,00 for early booking discount.
We have looked for a couple of hotels near our University where you can stay for these three days. At some of them you will get a discount if you tell them that you are joining our event.
